the same procedure to delete the 'normal recycle bin' as well. Also, how do I check on what a file was for when it's in there? I'm sure that these are files that were just disappearing previously, but I'm afraid to get rid of them if I'm not sure what they are for. Quick view just doesn't show much.

Find utility is better (find in selection, fewer screens, drag & drop, consitant rules, ) I'd question that, every past comparison between MacOS Find and Windows 95 Find has had You're getting confused because the recycle bin only shows the files, not the folders - the hierachy structure is kept intac, however.
